Asia cup 2023 : India to take on Sri Lanka for finals today, rain may disrupt the match, Axar is injured and ruled out

New Delhi. India will take on Sri Lanka today for Asia Cup Final 2023 at Colombo, Sri Lanka Day Night ODI match which will resume on 3 PM IST. Previously, India defeated Pakistan by 228 runs to reach finals while Sri Lanka also beat Pakistan by DLS method for their final qualification.

However, poor performances by Indian team against mighty Bangladesh in a super four match, has created chaos and less chances to win the Asia cup. Bangladesh won by 6 runs in a unforgettable match against India.

Axar is injured and ruled out

Axar Patel is ruled out due to hamstring injury and all rounder Washington Sunder may play as replacement no 8. In form batter Kusal Mendis will be in spot light, Sri Lanka hugely depends on his batting performance while India needs likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav to shine.

Rain will effect the proceedings and may halt the final at Colombo. Current ground weather is cloudy and thunderstorms likely in the evening and afternoon. A shortened match can be possible if rain disturbs the match, also next day Monday is allocated as reserve day.
